A Park At The Heart logo

The application for £24 million of BIG Lottery funding to create a transformational park in the heart of Bradford was turned down, despite backing from over 31,000 people from across the district.

Many messages of support from members of the public and local businesses have been received. All say how disappointed they are that Bradford has missed out on the chance to create a world class City Park but they still want to see the scheme become a reality.

Currently Bradford Council, alongside funding partners English Partnership and Yorkshire Forward, are looking at new avenues for alternative funding. Along side this, successful businessman Dr Michael Ziff, chairman and chief executive of shoe giant Stylo Ltd, is leading a bid to raise private funding with the creation of the ‘Park at the Heart foundation’.

Local businesses and the community are being asked to pull together and help change the face of Bradford and the lives of its people through the scheme.
